See, the 2017 Escape comes with the choice between three powerful and efficient engines. It also comes with the choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. As we mentioned, the 2017 Ford Escape comes with the choice between three powerful and efficient engines, all of which are paired with a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission. The base engine for the new Ford Escape is a 2.5-liter i-VCT four-cylinder engine capable of providing 168 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque while getting 21 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The base engine can only be paired with front-wheel drive. A 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is also available, which can offer up to 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque while getting 23 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway when paired with front-wheel drive, and 22 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway when paired with all-wheel drive. Finally, a 2.0-liter twin-scroll EcoBoost engine is available, which can pump out 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque while getting 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway when paired with front-wheel drive, and 20 miles per gallon in the city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway when paired with all-wheel drive.
