At the top of the list of advanced new technology features for the 2017 Ford Explorer is the available SYNC 3 voice-activated infotainment system with optional navigation system and the FordPass app, which allows you to contact your dealer, schedule maintenance, request roadside assistance and much, much more right from your smartphone. Additional advanced new technology features include front and rear 180-degree cameras, a forward sensing system, an available hands-free and foot-activated liftgate, an available Intelligent Access key, available dual second-row smart-charging USB ports, SiriusXM radio, available SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, Intelligent all-wheel drive with the Terrain Management System, an available 500-watt Sony premium audio system complete with Live Acoustics and Clear Phase, active grille shutters, air curtains and automatic high-beams.
In addition to everything listed above, the new Ford Explorer also features the available XLT Sport Appearance Package, which includes Magnetic Gray 20-inch wheels, grille, mirror caps and rear applique, Ebony Black body-side cladding and a black roof and Explorer hood badge. Inside, the package features Dark Earth Gray leather front seats and Miko suede seatback uppers and inserts complete with Umber scrim, contrast stitching and door trim inserts. Also included are front seat outer bolsters by premium leather maker Salerno and Explorer logo floor mats.
