2017 Ford Super Duty Towing Capacity

Published on Mar 3, 2023 by Product Expert

Ford prides itself on providing vehicles that can handle absolutely any job. The top workhorse in the Ford lineup is the F-Series Super Duty. The 2017 Ford Super Duty towing capacity will set this truck apart from its predecessors and competitors joining it on the market.

New Ford Super Duty Towing Rating

The Ford F-450 SuperCrew 4×4 is the Super Duty model drawing all the attention. This model offers a maximum gooseneck towing rating of 32,500 pounds. This number is 1,290 pounds greater than the closest competing model. The fifth wheel towing number checks in at 27,500 pounds, 2,500 greater than the next competing truck. Finally, conventional towing capacity on the Super Duty has been increased to 21,100 pounds. The F-450’s smaller siblings, the F-350 and F-250, are no slouches either. Both trucks offer a class-leading towing capacity of 18,000 pounds when properly equipped.

2017 Super Duty New Features

Several new features help to supplement these great towing ratings. The Super Duty is the first truck to offer features like adaptive cruise control and collision warnings with brake support for heavier trailers. Ford’s Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System uses four cameras to provide a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of the area around the truck. The Trailer Reverse Guidance system provides visual cues, tips and feedback to help when reversing with a trailer. Finally, Ford will offer a factory-available trailer rearview camera.

Also available is a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 with power ratings checking in at 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.

The all-new 2017 Ford Super Duty will be arriving at dealership inventories in the fall of 2016. When these great trucks arrive, be sure to take one for a test drive here at Brandon Ford.
