2018 Ford EcoSport Safety and Driver Assistance Features

The arrival date of the all-new 2018 Ford EcoSport is getting closer and closer. So, as we eagerly await its arrival here at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, we thought we’d continue to check out everything that makes the new Ford EcoSport such an impressive, efficient, capable and fun-to-drive compact SUV. We’ve already covered a lot of that in the EcoSport section of our Brandon Ford Blog, but one aspect of the model we haven’t taken a look at yet is safety. So, that’s exactly what we’re going to do here as we learn all we can about the safety and driver assistance features of the 2018 Ford EcoSport.

Like all of the other new Ford cars, trucks and SUVs here at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, the new Ford EcoSport features a comprehensive suite of advanced new safety features and driver assistance systems. This list includes LED signature lighting, halogen projector headlamps, heated leather-trimmed front seats, an 8-inch full color SYNC 3 touchscreen complete with navigation and voice recognition capabilities, SYNC Connect complete with FordPass app compatibility, a blind spot information system complete with cross traffic alert, a rear view camera, hill start assist, the auto start-stop feature and the new Ford MyKey feature.

You’re probably familiar with most of what we’ve listed above. But you may not be so familiar with the new Ford MyKey feature of the 2018 Ford EcoSport. This is a safety system specifically designed to help keep new teen drivers safe while out on the road by helping them learn good driving habits. This is achieved by allowing you to set certain parameters your teen driver must follow while operating the new Ford EcoSport. These parameters include safety belt usage, audio volume settings, speed limits and much more.
