Looking to stay at the head of the ever-growing SUV class, Ford has unveiled the new 2018 Explorer. The 2018 Ford Explorer will feature updated and improved front and rear styling details, including a new grille, and a comprehensive suite of advanced new safety, technology, comfort and convenience features, including an available embedded modem complete with a Wi-Fi hotspot that supports as many as 10 devices at once up to 50 feet away from the vehicle. The new Ford Explorer also promises to be the most customizable Explorer ever, thanks to three engine options, a plethora of exterior colors to choose from and much more. So, without further ado, let’s check out the 2018 Ford Explorer’s release date and new powertrain features.

As we mentioned before, the 2018 Ford Explorer will come with the choice between three powerful and efficient engines. One is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that will provide you with 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The 2018 Explorer Sport and Platinum editions will feature a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine complete with new quad exhaust tips capable of pumping out 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. A 3.5-liter V6 engine is also available, which offers 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque.
We already told you the 2018 Ford Explorer was going to be the most customizable Explorer ever, and now it’s time to expand on that. For starters, the new Ford Explorer will feature four new exterior color choices – Burgundy Velvet Tinted Clearcoat, Cinnamon Glaze, Platinum Dune Tricoat and Blue Metallic. The 2018 Explorer will also come with five new wheel choices.
