2018 Ford Focus Release Date and New Engine Features

One of Ford’s most versatile, capable and fun to drive models is back and better than ever for the 2018 model year. We’re talking, of course, about the 2018 Ford Focus. Like the 2017 Ford Focus lineup, the new Focus lineup offers you the choice between sedan and hatchback models, while also featuring a wide array of powerful and efficient engines to choose from along with a comprehensive suite of advanced new safety, technology, comfort and convenience features. But at this point in time, we’re most interested in its engines and release date, so let’s learn all we can about the release date and new engine features of the 2018 Ford Focus.

Let’s start out by checking what’s under the hood of the new Ford Focus. Like we mentioned before, you get to choose from a variety of powertrains when picking out your 2018 Ford Focus. In fact, you get to choose between three powerful and efficient engines and five transmissions. The engine lineup includes a 1.0-liter EcoBoost I-3 engine offering 123 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque while getting up to 30 miles per gallon in the city and 42 miles per gallon on the highway, a 2.0-liter Ti-VCT GDI I-4 FFV engine offering 160 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque while getting up to 27 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine offering 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque while getting up to 22 miles per gallon in the city and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. You can also choose between a five-speed manual transmission, a six-speed manual transmission, a six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift, a PowerShift six-speed automatic transmission and a PowerShift six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift.

Ford hasn’t announced a release date for the new Ford Focus just yet, but with all of the information that’s coming out about the new model, we’re guessing we’ll have it on our lot here at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, very soon.
