Thanks to the Ford F-150 and the Ford Super Duty, America’s favorite automotive company has been dominating most of the industry’s pickup truck segments for as long as we can remember. Then the company released the Ford Ranger, which extended that domination to the midsize pickup truck class. Knowing there was still more to do, Ford unleashed the 2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid, which revolutionized the way we think about trucks. And now, thanks to the impending arrival of the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick, Ford has taken control of the compact pickup truck class. But how powerful is the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick? And does it really feature a standard hybrid engine? We’ll answer these questions and more as we check out the powertrain options and power ratings for the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick lineup at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL.

As you’ve surely figured out by now, the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick lineup at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, features a standard hybrid powertrain – a first for an American pickup truck. But this isn’t any old hybrid powertrain, this is a Ford truck hybrid powertrain – meaning it’s just as powerful as it is fuel efficient. More specifically, the 4-cylinder 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid powertrain of the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick pumps out 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque all while getting you up to 40 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
If you’re not ready for a hybrid powertrain under the hood of your new Ford truck, then you can equip your 2022 Maverick with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that pumps out 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
