Ford has announced they’re going to be focusing on a few specific categories as they prepare to unleash multiple all-new models on the automotive world by 2020. Those categories are trucks, SUVs, hybrids, battery electric vehicles and commercial vehicles. The Ford truck revolution has already begun thanks to the arrival of the new Ford F-150 Diesel this model year and the impending arrival of the all-new Ford Ranger in the 2019 model year. The revolution will continue in the 2020 model year with the release of an all-new Ford F-150 Hybrid model.
The SUV revolution has also already begun thanks to the aforementioned all-new EcoSport and Expedition and the impending arrival of the all-new Ford Edge lineup in 2019. The 2019 model year will also see all-new versions of the Ford Escape and Ford Explorer. Additional all-new Ford SUVs on their way include an all-new Ford Bronco, an unnamed off-road utility vehicle and an all-new Ford Performance Team-enhanced Ford Explorer ST model.
We already mentioned an all-new F-150 Hybrid model is coming, but that’s not the only all-new hybrid model that’s on its way. Hybrid versions of the Ford Mustang, Explorer, Escape and Bronco are also in the works. Multiple new battery electric models are also on their way, including an all-new performance battery electric utility vehicle arriving by 2020. That will be the first of six all-new electric vehicles, with the rest arriving by 2022.
As for commercial vehicles, an all-new Ford Transit model will be released in 2019, with other yet-to-be-named commercial vehicles coming by 2020.
