The 2017 Ford Expedition has been designed to meet the needs of anyone considering a full-size SUV. Shoppers researching the new Expedition will have noticed that the SUV is offered in two different body styles. So how is the 2017 Ford Expedition EL different from the 2017 Ford Expedition?
The longer body style of the 2017 Ford Expedition EL increases the SUV’s storage capacity substantially. With the rear seats folded down, the Expedition EL offers up to 130.8 cubic feet of storage space. Standard Expedition body styles still offer an impressive 108.3 cubic feet of storage capacity. If pure storage capacity is an important factor, the Expedition EL is the best choice.
Both the 2017 Expedition and the Expedition EL come equipped with a standard 3.5-liter turbocharged V-6 engine. This engine delivers 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The standard Expedition is able to earn an estimated 15 miles per gallon in the cities and 22 miles per gallon on the highways. The larger body of the heavier Expedition EL drops these numbers slightly down to 14 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.
