The return of the Ford Ranger to the lineup has given car shoppers an alternative to the full-size 2023 Ford F-150 and the 2024 Ford Ranger continues to improve on the design. The 2024 Ford Ranger employs a fully boxed high-strength steel frame with an extended wheelbase that adds two more inches to the bed length. To make the Ford Ranger more capable on the trail, the rear shocks and shock mounts have been moved to the outside of the frame rails to improve control, ground clearance, approach angles and departure angles.

A pair of standard powertrains - a 270-horsepower 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder and a 315-horsepower 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V-6 - married to a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission provide more power and torque than the previous model. When the 2024 Ford Ranger is equipped for towing, it will tow up to 7,500 pounds of cargo and will provide drivers with a 1,805-pound maximum payload capacity.
