Have you ever been on a jobsite or at a campsite and needed electricity? Did you know that the 2023 Ford F-150 and more models can provide the power you need with Ford Pro Power Onboard™ technology? Equipped with Ford Pro Power Onboard™, your Ford F-150 can serve as a generator and power source for your electric tools and household appliances. Learn more about how to use Ford Pro Power Onboard™ technology with this quick overview created by Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL.
When equipped with the Ford Pro Power Onboard™ System, your Ford F-150 can operate as a mobile generator that provides three different levels of power – 2.0 kW, 2.4 kW and 7.2 kW – that are accessible via an array of outlets in the bed of the truck. Power for the system is created by the gas engine or the Lithium-Ion battery pack in select hybrid and electric models. With this onboard power, you will have access to electric power for tools, equipment or appliances no matter where your adventures may take you.
The 2.0-kW Ford Pro Power Onboard™ System will provide up to 2,000 watts of power to a pair of 120-volt outlets in the truck bed. When you need more power, the 2.4-kW Pro Power Onboard™ System gives you access to 2,400 watts of electricity for up to 85 hours. The top-tier 7.2-kW Pro Power Onboard™ System provides 7,200 watts of power via four 120-volt outlets and a 240-volt power outlet. Here is a better look at equipment, tools and appliances you can use with each Pro Power Onboard™ System.
The innovative Ford Pro Power Onboard™ System is available with a variety of Ford trucks and SUVs – but the power level depends on the engine that you choose. For example, the 2023 Ford F-150 powered by the 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V-6, 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V-6 and the 5.0-liter V-8 is available with the 2.0-kW Pro Power Onboard™ System. When you upgrade to the Ford F-150 with the 3.5-liter PowerBoost® Hybrid and its 1.5-kWh Lithium-Ion battery, the 2.4-kW Pro Power Onboard™ System comes standard and you can upgrade to the 7.2-kW system.
