Armed with this engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Ford Mustang EcoBoost® is the most powerful standard four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine ever available in the Ford Mustang. The available Active-Valve Performance Exhaust System allows you to fine tune the sound of your Ford Mustang EcoBoost®.

 

Do you love the throaty growl of an eight-cylinder engine? The 2024 Ford Mustang GT will deliver on every level. The latest in the Ford Mustang GT lineup employs a next-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 that can be paired with a 10-speed automatic or six-speed TREMEC® manual transmission to hammer out 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. The more powerful 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 is the most powerful naturally aspirated eight-cylinder ever in a Ford Mustang, and with the addition of the available Active-Valve Performance Exhaust System, the Ford Mustang GT will make 486 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque.

 

2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse 5.0-Liter V-8 Engine and Specs

The first-ever 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse is a track-focused and performance-tuned option that will deliver next-level performance at every turn. To deliver this elite level of performance, the Ford Mustang Dark Horse employs an upgraded edition of the 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 that will deliver 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque to the wheels.

 

With this level of power under the hood, the Ford Mustang Dark Horse is the most powerful Ford Mustang that does not carry the Shelby® nameplate. The Ford Mustang Dark Horse utilizes a one-of-a-kind crankshaft, forged piston connecting rods, upgraded camshafts and more to operate close to a 7,500-rpm redline.
