Standard 2017 Super Duty models will offer Ford’s popular 6.2-liter gasoline V8 engine. This has been available on previous Super Duty models and offers 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. This classic engine is paired with a new version of the six-speed TorqShift automatic transmission that helps maximize the truck’s performance.

If the gasoline engine still does not offer enough power for you, Ford will also be offering a new Power Stroke diesel that is sure to impress. This 6.7-liter turbodiesel offers 440 horsepower and an impressive 925 pound-feet of torque. This torque number will lead the heavy-duty truck class. The diesel engine is also paired with the six-speed TorqShift transmission.
These impressive torque numbers lead to equally impressive towing ratings. When equipped with this engine, the Ford F-450 Super Duty will be able to offer an astounding maximum towing rating of 32,500 pounds. The smaller F-350 and F-250 Super Duty models still offer impressive, class-leading maximum towing ratings of 18,000 pounds.
When equipped with the new 48-gallon fuel tank, the 2017 Ford Super Duty will offer a 1,000-mile range.
