Since we gave you a broad overview of the 2018 Ford Focus lineup in our introduction, we’re now going to spend some time taking a closer look at what’s under the hood of the new Focus lineup and the new Soul lineup.

As you can see in our comparison table above, the base engine of the new Ford Focus lineup is far more powerful and fuel efficient than the base engine of the 2018 Kia Soul lineup. More specifically, the base engine of the 2018 Focus lineup can provide you with 160 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque and get you 30 city MPG and 42 highway MPG. Conversely, the base engine of the 2018 Soul lineup can only provide you with 130 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque and only get you 24 city MPG and 30 highway MPG.
