2019 Ford Flex vs 2019 Chevy Traverse

The biggest Ford versus Chevrolet competition definitely revolves around the truck lineups of the two brands, but new Ford SUVs and new Chevy SUVs have some pretty impressive competitions, too. And that’s especially true for the 2019 model year, as both brands are going all-out with their new SUV lineups due to the growing popularity of SUVs all around the country.

This time around, we’ve got a 2019 Ford Flex versus 2019 Chevy Traverse head-to-head model comparison for you to enjoy – a comparison which shows you once again that, no matter how hard they try, Chevrolet just can’t seem to beat Ford.

Both the 2019 Ford Flex lineup and the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse lineup offer you a pair of engines to choose from, and the standard engine of each lineup is actually pretty similar – though the 2019 Flex lineup holds the distinct advantage due to it offering more horsepower than the standard engine of the 2019 Traverse lineup. More specifically, the standard engine of the 2019 Flex lineup provides you with 287 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque, while the standard engine of the 2019 Traverse lineup provides you with 257 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

That power difference grows even more when looking at the available engines of the two lineups, as the available engine of the 2019 Flex lineup features 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, whereas the available engine of the 2019 Traverse lineup features only 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque.

The passenger space of the two lineups is also similar, with the 2019 Traverse featuring slightly more passenger space than the 2019 Flex – though it’s not enough to actually notice a difference once you get inside.
