Evildoers beware, the Ford Interceptor lineup is patrolling the streets. The 2017 Ford Interceptor performance has just helped this line-up of law enforcement vehicles earn a significant recognition. Anyone thinking about trying to outrun a Ford Interceptor should know that these vehicles were just named the fastest police vehicles currently on the roads.
2017 Ford Interceptor Models
Both the Ford Interceptor sedan and utility vehicle models finished at the top of speed testing done by the Michigan State Police Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The Police Interceptor sedan’s EcoBoost engine was able to power the car past all rivals, including models utilizing V-8 engines. The 2017 Interceptor sedan jumped from 0-60 miles per hour in a blistering 5.70 seconds. In 0-100 mile per hour tests, the Interceptor turned in a time of 13.62 seconds, nearly a second faster than the closest competitor.

As dominating as the sedan interceptor’s win was, the Interceptor utility vehicle turned in an even more dominating performance. An EcoBoost-powered Interceptor utility made it to 60 mph in 6.40 seconds, a feat it took the nearest competitor 7.97 seconds to accomplish. The lead grew as the competitors continued to 100 mph, with the Interceptor checking in at 19 seconds, nearly four seconds faster than the competition.
The Michigan State Police Department finished off their competition by running every model around Grattan Raceway. The two Ford models once again turned in the fastest times, completing this dominating win.
