2018 Ford Shelby GT350 & GT350R Mustang Release Date

Ford unleased some huge news on National Mustang Day – the most track-capable, street legal Mustang ever built is coming back for the 2018 model year. That’s right, the Shelby GT350 Mustang and the Shelby GT350R Mustang are coming back once again for 2018, available right here at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, this fall with three new exterior color options – Orange Fury, Kona Blue and Lead Foot Gray. An Electronics Package will also be available for both models, which includes the SYNC 3 voice-activated navigation and nine-speaker audio system. A Convenience Package is also available for the 2018 Shelby GT350 Mustang model, which features Miko suede inserts for the driver and passenger seats. The 2018 Ford Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustang models will feature the same impressive powertrain found on the 2017 Mustang models. That means 2018 Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustangs will come standard with a 5.2-liter V8 FPC engine capable of pumping out 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft. of torque while getting 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 miles per gallon on the highway. Additional powertrain features include a six-speed manual transmission, the MagneRide damping system and engine oil, transmission and differential coolers. In terms of brakes, the new Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustang models will feature vented 15.5-inch two-piece front rotors and six-piston Brembo calipers.
