And now, the new 2021 Ford Escape lineup is continuing that impressive legacy by offering not one, but two hybrid powertrains to choose from – in addition to the two gasoline engines also available to choose from. But which 2021 Escape powertrain should you choose when it all arrives this fall? Let’s figure that out right here as we examine the four powertrain options for the 2021 Ford Escape lineup.
As we pointed out in our introduction, the new Ford Escape lineup at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, offers you a total of four powertrains to choose from when picking out your 2021 Escape. Two of these engines – a 1.5-liter EcoBoost inline 3-cylinder engine featuring a horsepower rating of 180 and a torque rating of 177 pound-feet, and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline 4-cylinder engine featuring a horsepower rating of 250 and a torque rating of 275 pound-feet – are regular gasoline engines. The other two powertrain options, however, are hybrid powertrains. These powertrains feature either a 2.5-liter FHEV Atkinson Cycle I-4 engine featuring a horsepower rating of 198 or a 2.5-liter PHEV Atkinson Cycle I-4 engine featuring a horsepower rating of 209.
