When Ford brought the GT supercar back, the new car was designed to push the limits of performance. The new car has been an immediate success, orders for the civilian version have sold out and the Ford GT race car continues to pile up wins. So has the new Ford GT won any awards off of the race track?
The Ford GT has been named a winner of a Gold Clio Award for Product Design. This is the first time a Gold Clio has been awarded in the all-new Vehicle category. This debut win is an excellent recognition of the design of the new Ford GT supercar.

This is now the 57th year of the Clio Awards. Winners are determined based on the voting of top creative professionals in the advertising, marketing and design fields from around the world. Entries are narrowed down each round, eliminating over 80 percent of the competitors. Winners are then assigned either Gold, Silver or Bronze status.
In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, the design of the new Ford GT has been engineered to be as aerodynamic as possible. The teardrop body design cuts through the air to reduce drag and maximize performance.
Under the hood of the new GT is a 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine that produces over 600 horsepower.
The current ordering period for the GT is now closed, but additional ordering periods will be opened at later dates.
