How Much Can a 2022 Ford Bronco Tow

Published on Mar 3, 2023 by Product Expert

High-performance vehicles fulfilling commercial and personal purposes have always been in immense demand. Ford launches the latest edition of its ever-popular Bronco with a powerful engine, pulling heavy-weight items within and with its massive towing capacity. If you are in Tampa, FL, and want to learn more about the 2022 Bronco, Brandon Ford is the right place to get your hands on the steering wheel of this stylish new SUV. Let us dive right into the details about how much a 2022 Ford Bronco can tow.

A Standard Bronco’s Towing Capacity

The base model of the 2022 Ford Bronco comes in two types- the 2-door and 4-door variants. Both these models have a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. Bronco features a standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine in the two-door model with a curb weight of only 4,977 and a 7-speed manual transmission.

On the other hand, the four-door model offers a significant upgrade with a 10-speed automatic transmission at a curb weight of 5,226. Though the 2022 Bronco is not as capable as the Ford pickup trucks in towing a tremendous amount of weight, it can take quite a few packages when you are traveling. Furthermore, the other trim levels and variants improve the towing capabilities without significantly increasing the overall capacity.

How Much the Ford Bronco Sport Can Tow

With the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine, the trim levels of the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport, including the Big Bend, Outer Banks, and the Base, can tow up to 2,000 lbs. However, if the base model is sufficiently packaged and equipped, a maximum towing capacity of 2,200 lbs. can be achieved. Those who aim for this upgrade should go for the Badlands trim since the extra 200 lbs. are exclusive in it when combined with the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The Badland trim is available at an MSRP of $33,935. A smart trailer tow connector, trailer sway control, trailer brake wiring, haul modes, and a 7-wire harness are included in the special package.
