2018 Ford Focus RS Tampa FL

Anyone with a need for speed knows the Ford Performance Team and their work on models like the Ford Focus ST, the Ford Fiesta ST and the Ford Mustang GT quite well. But those three performance models aren’t the only projects the Ford Performance Team is heavily invested in. They also played a big part in building the 2018 Ford Focus RS, which is available now at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL.

Like the rest of the 2018 Ford Focus lineup, the new Ford Focus RS is incredibly economical when it comes to fuel consumption. Knowing that, it may surprise many that the 2018 Focus RS also houses one of the most powerful and fun to drive engines of any hatchback ever, which helps create a powertrain that’s sure to take you on the diving adventure of a lifetime.

Listing the Ways the Ford Performance Team Improved the Engine and Performance Features of the New Ford Focus RS at Brandon Ford in Tampa FL

Whenever someone hears the Ford Performance Team played an important role in building a new Ford model, they inevitably want to know what’s under the hood of that model. The same holds true for the 2018 Ford Focus RS. And let us be the first to tell you that the Ford Performance Team didn’t disappoint.

That’s because the Ford Performance Team put a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine under the hood of the new Ford Focus RS and mated it to a performance-enhanced six-speed manual transmission. That created a powertrain that offers 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque all while still having the ability to get up to 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.

But the engine and transmission aren’t the only new Ford Focus RS features the Ford Performance Team had their hands on. They also included a performance-enhanced all-wheel drive system, a performance-enhanced mechanical Quaife Limited Slip Differential for the front axle, a performance-enhanced suspension complete with customizable settings, Brembo performance-enhanced brakes, and 19-inch premium painted forged alloy wheels with the 2018 Focus RS. Furthermore, they created four new driving modes for you to choose from when cruising around in your new Focus RS. They are: Normal Mode, Sport Mode, Track Mode, and Drift Mode.
