2018 Ford Focus vs 2018 Chevy Cruze

The 2018 Ford Focus lineup, which we have right here at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, is one of the most versatile lineups available today. That’s because it’s base sedan and hatchback models perfectly combine capability with fuel efficiency, while the 2018 Ford Focus ST ups the power output to give you the ride of your life and the 2018 Ford Focus Electric offers you a great way to save a ton of money at the pump.

That’s not to say there aren’t other versatile automotive lineups out there – they just aren’t as versatile, as impressive, as powerful or as capable as the new Ford Focus lineup. Take the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze lineup, for instance. It also offers both sedan and hatchback models, and even features an available diesel engine option. So, it’s got some versatility, but it still gets outperformed, outmatched and outclassed by the 2018 Focus lineup. To see what we mean, check out this 2018 Ford Focus vs 2018 Chevy Cruze head-to-head model lineup comparison.

2018 Ford Focus VS 2018 Chevy Cruze

2018 Ford Focus Lineup: More Customization Options, More Power and More Cargo Room than the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze Lineup

As you can see in the table above, the 2018 Ford Focus lineup offers more engine options than the 2018 Chevy Cruze lineup, along with a higher max horsepower rating and a higher max torque rating. More specifically, the most powerful of the three engines available for the new Ford Focus lineup is a 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine capable of pumping out 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. As for the new Chevy Cruze lineup and its two available engines, you’ll have to decide whether horsepower or torque is more important. What we mean by that is that the max horsepower rating of 153 horsepower comes from the lineup’s standard engine, while the max torque rating of 240 pound-feet comes from the lineup’s available diesel engine.

The 2018 Ford Focus lineup doesn’t just beat the 2018 Chevrolet Cruze lineup when it comes to capability, either. It also offers more cargo capacity. In fact, the new Ford Focus Hatchback models provide 22.3 cubic-feet of cargo space, whereas the new Chevy Cruze Hatchback models provide only 22.7 cubic-feet of cargo space.
