If you would have asked us 20 years ago if we would be excited to feature a plug-in hybrid SUV on our Brandon Ford lot here in Tampa, FL, we probably would have laughed in your face. But times have changed a lot since the start of the new millennium, and we’re now more than proud to announce the arrival of the 2020 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid.

More specifically, a plug-in hybrid powertrain is available for all 2020 Ford Escape trim levels other than the 2020 Ford Escape S and the 2020 Ford Escape SE Sport. This impressively advanced new plug-in hybrid system gets you an EPA-estimated all-electric driving range of at least 30 miles, which just so happens to be best-in-class. All 2020 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid models also feature a Level 1/Level 2 AC charging port. Using a Level 1 charger fully charges your battery in only about 10 hours, while a Level 2 charger lowers that time even more, fully charging your battery in only three-and-a-half hours.

Its Advanced New Hybrid Propulsion System Isn’t the Only Advanced New Feature for the 2020 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid at Brandon Ford in Tampa FL

As we pointed out in our introduction, the advanced new powertrain of the 2020 Ford Escape Plug-In Hybrid models is a true mechanical marvel, but that’s not all that impressively technologically-advanced for the all-new lineup.

At the top of the list is the Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite of advanced new safety and driver assistance features, which is standard across the entire 2020 Ford Escape lineup – no matter which kind of powertrain you choose. That suite is joined by other newly available features, such as an all-new and all-digital instrument cluster that measures an impressive 12.3 inches, a driver heads-up display the likes of which has never been seen in a North American Ford model, and additional safety features like Active Park Assist 2.0 and Evasive Steering Assist – both of which are first-in-class features you won’t find on any other SUV in the 2020 Escape lineup’s class.
