When the Ford Maverick arrived at dealerships, it was one of the first hybrid pickup trucks available on the market - providing drivers with an impressive combination of utility and fuel economy. Rumors about the demise of the Ford Maverick Hybrid powertrain have led many potential customers to ask if the 2024 Ford Maverick is still available with a hybrid. Drivers want to know - what are the 2024 Ford Maverick engine options and specs? We are here to answer your questions at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL!
Yes - the 2024 Ford Maverick is still available with a hybrid powertrain, but the Ford Maverick powertrain lineup will be updated for the new model year. The 2.5-liter Hybrid powertrain will no longer be standard in the 2024 Ford Maverick and will be replaced with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder as the standard engine. The hybrid powertrain will remain an available option for the 2024 Ford Maverick at an extra cost.
The standard powertrain for the 2024 Ford Maverick will be the tried-and-true 2.0-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder that was an available option in the previous edition. Armed with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost® engine, the Ford Maverick will make 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. Married to an eight-speed automatic transmission the 2.0-liter Ford Maverick will earn an estimated 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive. When equipped with the 4K Tow Package, the all-wheel drive Ford Maverick with the EcoBoost® engine will tow 4,000 pounds of cargo.
The hybrid powertrain employed by the Ford Maverick at its inception made it a popular option for urban drivers in need of pickup truck utility. The 2024 Ford Maverick will have the 2.5-liter Hybrid four-cylinder as an available option with an estimated $1,500 premium. The fuel-efficient 2.5-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine will deliver 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels. Paired with a PowerSplit Continuously Variable Transmission, the Ford Maverick Hybrid will achieve an estimated 42 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. Ford Maverick Hybrid entries will tow up to 2,000 pounds of cargo with a maximum payload of 1,559 pounds. Hybrid variants are only available with front-wheel drive.
